Mr. Vayalar Ravi, Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, conferred the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award on former President of Singapore, Mr. S.R. Nathan at a function organised at the Residence of the High Commissoner of India to Singapore on April 28, 2012. The function was organised jointly with the Singapore Indian Association.
To commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Nobel Laureate Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, the
High Commission of India and the Tagore Society held an ICCR sponsored exhibition: "Tagore and Romance of Travel" in Singapore from 30th March-3rd April, 2012. The exhibition was held at the National Library Board, Singapore and was inaugurated by H.E. Dr. TCA Raghavan, High Commissioner of India to Singapore.

External Affairs Minister Shri S M Krishna visited Singapore from 9-11 March 2012. He chaired the Regional Conference of Heads of Indian Missions in ASEAN countries, which was held in Singapore on 10 and 11 March 2012. During his visit, External Affairs Minister met his Singapore counterpart Mr. K. Shanmugam, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law and also delivered a public lecture at the Institute of South Asian Studies.
A Seminar on India's Engineering Exports held on 23rd February, 2012, in association with Engineering Exports Promotion Council – India, Singapore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Singapore Business Federation and Singapore Manufacturer’s Federation.
On the occasion of 63rd Republic Day on 26th January, 2012, the High Commissioner hoisted the National Flag at the Chancery and read the President's address to the Nation delivered on the eve of the Republic Day. This was followed by cultural performances presented by students of India schools.
Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Environment and Water Resources was the Chief Guest at the evening Reception hosted by the High Commissioner.
